Join Us for First Saturday

by ahopper on March 4, 2010

Hey BC Saturday…

Just a reminder, this Saturday (March 6th) is our monthly First Saturday gathering.  We’ll meet at 3:30 PM.  Because of this weekend’s Nexus Project, we’ll gather together in the Summit Kids area.

These monthly gatherings are designed to do a few things.  First, they keep our leadership informed as to what is going on with Saturday Nights. With Easter, Believe, and 2 services looming it is important that we are all on the same page. Second, they give YOU the opportunity to build relationships that might not otherwise happen, due to the hectic life of a volunteer. We want you to be in community with each other and this gathering helps to facilitate that. Finally, the First Saturday gatherings provide a chance for us to corporately pray for what God is doing on Saturday Nights at the Summit!

We hope that you will make this gathering a priority. If you are not currently serving on a volunteer team please don’t let that stop you from joing us Saturday.  Anyone is welcome to come, so we’ll see you there!

Neal Middle School Needs Our Help

by ahopper on February 24, 2010

We (the Saturday Night Venue) have an established relationship with Neal Middle School.  As a result of various ministry done on their campus, the school came to us with a request. This summer they will be sending a group of students to Washington DC for an educational trip. But there’s a problem: some students lack the funds to pay for the trip.

This is where we come in. Over the next couple months there will be a few things designed to help us help them. The first of which is a donation box that will be in the Lobby this Sunday Night. A few students, and their families, from Neal will be here in order to raise awareness and accept our donations. This is a wonderful chance to meet the students, meet their families, and show the love of Christ by helping further these student’s education.

We hope that you will come prepared to hang out with these families and give to their cause. We are not asking for anything more than a few dollars from everyone. If we all chip in we will really help this school in its commitment to leave no one behind because of financial condition.

Let’s make the most of this opportunity to love our community!

Pastor Andrew

December 17, 2009
